I have had the privilege of being involved with Windridge since 1996, starting as a special needs aide, then as a parent with my 2 daughters here, then as a teacher and now as a teacher/administrator/happy owner. I love working with all our families in our great community! It is such an honour to teach your children and watch them grow into confident and well-rounded individuals: cognitively, physically, emotionally and socially.
I was born in Cooma, Australia and grew up in North Vancouver from the age of 2. I started my career to be a CGA at CapU, and then worked in a bank and a computer company for many years. But after having my first child, I realized where my true passion was and completed my Early Childhood Education certificate in 1998. I have enjoyed raising my family here on the North Shore with my husband, Peter. We enjoy hiking with our dog, Coco, on all the great local trails. I also enjoy swimming, reading and nice dinners with our friends and family. I truly feel blessed to be here and being a part of the village that it takes to raise a child!

Hello Dear Families,
I’m excited to be a teacher at Windridge Park Preschool and to spend quality time with your children.
I was born and raised in the Ukraine where I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Translation. After graduation, I spent 1 year in Germany as an au-pair in order to gain childcare experience and master the language. From Germany, I moved to Canada (about 10 years ago) to work as a nanny for 3 beautiful children in West Vancouver. I realized my passion was working with children and enrolled in the ECCE program at CapU, from which I graduated in the summer of 2017 with a diploma in ECCE with Infant/Toddler and Special Needs certificates.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and young son, exploring the outdoors that the North Shore and BC has to offer- hiking, biking, camping, beaches and walking our dog.
As an educator, I consider children to be creative, intelligent and capable. Not only am I here to teach, I also expect to learn a lot from children. I believe if we give children the right environment and tools, they have so much more to give back to us. I look forward to our days full of exploration, creativity, challenges, laughter and positive energy.
Hi, I'm Piera, I moved to Canada in 2008 from Florence, Italy, where I was born and raised. I live in North Vancouver with my husband Giacomo, our two daughters Giulia and Marta and our dog Lucky. I studied Languages (Russian and German) at the University in Florence and I taught English as a second language for a number of years. Here in Canada I got certified as an ESL teacher for Young Learners.
I first came to Windridge as a mom when our youngest daughter started preschool here. She loved it so much and we spent two and a half great years with Teacher Anne and crew.
I have also completed my EA certification and I am thrilled and honoured to be part of this wonderful community.
Hello, I’m Sydne Mitchell! I am very happy to be a part of Windridge Park Preschool's team this year! It has been an amazing environment for me to grow, with lots of supportive and encouraging staff members.
I am a teacher's assistant here at Windridge Park Preschool. I completed the Educational Assistant program at Columbia Bible College. After earning my certificate, I completed a 100-hour practicum at Agassiz Christian School.
I am very passionate about working with children with special needs. I have a 16-year-old brother who has Cerebral Palsy. I am aware of the challenges and difficulties one may be susceptible to but I am also aware, as I have seen with my brother that the right Support Person can make. Showing kindness to everyone and Inclusion are two strong values of mine. I also am a strong believer in you can do anything you put your mind to, no matter what challenges one may face.
I am from Hope, BC and have moved to East Vancouver this past year to continue my education at Capilano University in the ECE program. Growing up in the small town of Hope, surrounded by mountains, there is not much to do except explore the outdoors! I love spending time outside, hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, wakeboarding and most of all I love to hop in my jeep and find new trails to explore!
Hi everyone! I am Oily.
I work as a Education Assistant Teacher at Windridge Park ChildCare Centre. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Business Adminstration in Thailand and I was a lecturer at the University in Bangkok for 6 years.
In 2010 I had a great opportunity to work as an au pair in Australia. I was attracted to the wonderful world of children and my new career began. After I finished that contract I went back to Thailand and trained to take care of children in day care and did my first aid training as well.
My first year in Canada I worked with a nice family in Alberta caring for their four children within their busy schedule. In 2013 I moved to British Columbia and found a fantastic family in North Vancouver. I still work with that family and part-time at Windridge as the family children transition into the school system.
My years of child care experience have helped me to understand the behaviour of children and has developed in me a respect for their young minds as well as a sympathetic and patient approach towards them. I have my EA certification and I am currently working to complete my ECE accreditation while I continue to be part of the team here at Windridge.
Hello, my name is Jillian and I am excited to be an educator at Windridge Park and to be working with your children.
I grew up on the Island, in the Comox Valley where most of my family still resides. Moving out of the Comox Valley, I lived in Victoria for 10 years where I worked in the gas/oil industry before deciding to move to England. I moved to the UK in August 2013 and spent 2 years living in London working as an office manager in a bakery, part time caregiver to 3 families and travelling throughout Europe as often as I could.
On my return to Canada I moved to Vancouver and began working as a nanny for a family of 3 young boys. With the encouragement of my sister I enrolled into the ECCE program at Capilano University and began my journey of becoming an Early Childhood Educator. I have recently completed my ECCE diploma and will soon be receiving my Infant/Toddler certificate.
From a young age, I have always known that my career would involve working with young children. I believe that working with young children and being a part of their growth and development - to witness a child learn something for the first time and know that I was a part of it - is incredibly rewarding. I look forward to getting to know you and your children throughout the year.
